The Big Picture-why bad things happen to good people

Your enemy wants to destroy you.  He can only go so far in that desire.  He is stopped, by the grace of God, from killing us all.  We are all like sheep that go astray.  Why then do some people seem to be attacked more than others?  It goes back farther than just our sin.  It goes back many generations.  The rights to destroy your life may have been given in an exchange with fallen sons of God hundreds of years before you were even born.  You are NOT your biggest problem, you are not wrestling flesh and blood, but warring against the powers of darkness.

There are three key events in history that play a part in the evil that happens.  One is the fall of Lucifer where he took one third of the angels with him and then eventually convinced mankind through Adam and Eve to follow in rebellion. The second is Genesis 6 where the fallen sons of God mated with humankind to produce a new race that was meant to destroy mankind (these are the giants talked about in scripture).  The third is the tower of Babel where mankind rebelled against God and in response, He divided the nations. He gave each nation a fallen son of God to be their ruler.  Israel was YHWH’s portion.  The results of these three rebellions are the reason our world is so full of pain and evil, and why man is still seeking to be their own god and ultimately to become a god.  The lure of Satan is still at work in our lives today through what our forefathers set up in their agreements with darkness.

In every deliverance session we find a theme.  Somewhere in the family line, some relative has worshipped a false god (fallen son of God) and dedicated the family line to that god.  We find it in every country around the world, every walk of life, every race.  This is usually the key to breaking the strongholds in the person’s life and to removing the enemy’s right to steal kill and destroy.  He still tries to attack, but he loses his right for the attack to be so extreme.

The practices in Scripture of people worshipping false gods and sacrificing their children for protection, power, wealth and position have been going on through the generations.  These are the rights the enemy is claiming to steal, kill and destroy in lives today.  The more extreme the attack, the more rights have been given to the demonic by the ancestors of the family line.

The good news is that the cross of Christ reversed all of this.  His declaration of “Upon this rock, I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it” was at the very spot of the rebellion.  Mt. Hermon is the place where Jesus declared he would undo what the connection of the powers of darkness to humankind had set up.  We have the victory through His mighty name and His shed blood to come out from the oppression of our forefathers and their blind allegiance to these powers.  The cross reversed the rule of the fallen sons of God over mankind.  We are called back into the family of the Most High God to be adopted as His children.  Redemption is ours.

The false gods are part of the Divine Council mentioned in Psalm 89. The video below is critical for understanding the big picture. I pray that your eyes will be opened to the truth of the Word of God and to the enemy’s schemes in your life.

Ephesians 3:14-20 English Standard Version (ESV)

Prayer for Spiritual Strength

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
